瓦波语为尤基瓦波语系的罕用语言，语言使用分布在西加州旧金山以北的亚历山大谷地区。瓦波语和尤基语有语系关连。

区域语言变体

瓦波语有5种语言变体:

  • 清湖瓦波语(Clear Lake Wappo)
  • 俄罗斯河瓦波语(Russian River Wappo (又称 西瓦波语))
  • 北瓦波语(Northern Wappo)
  • 中瓦波语(Central Wappo)
  • 南瓦波语(Southern Wappo)
